Judicial Nominee Says Prayers to Allah Okay, But Not to Jesus
"True to his campaign promises, President Barack Hussein Obama has picked a rabid judicial activist as his first federal court pick. Judge David Hamilton has been chosen by Obama to serve on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit.Hamilton is precisely what Obama wants in a judge: Someone who ignores the Constitution and imposes his own liberal ideas on each case. Hamilton will have what Obama calls “empathy” for the poor, child molesters, abortionists, murderers, etc.

Hamilton is also an enemy of the First Amendment and religious freedom. Interestingly enough, Hamilton has ruled that prayers in Jesus Name at the Indiana House of Representatives was unconstitutional, but prayers to Allah were not. . . .

UN Body Okays Call to Curb Religious Criticism
GENEVA (AP) — The U.N.'s top human-rights body approved a proposal backed by Muslims nations Thursday urging the passage of laws around the world protecting religion from criticism.

The council is dominated by Muslim and African countries. Muslim nations have argued that religions, in particular Islam, must be shielded from criticism in the media and other areas of public life. They cited cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad as an example of unacceptable free speech. “Islam is frequently and wrongly associated with human rights violations and terrorism," [and this resolution will do what to disprove that association? Nada] the resolution said.

A simple majority of 23 members of the 47-nation Human Rights Council voted in favor of the resolution. Eleven mostly Western nations opposed it and 13 countries abstained.

The United States did not vote on the resolution because it is not a member of the council. The Bush administration announced it was virtually giving up on the body and would participate in debates only if absolutely necessary because of the council's anti-Israel statements and its failure to act on abuses in Sudan and elsewhere.

Death to free speech creeping ever more steadily toward the United States.

Islamophobia Is A Fabrication
. . . Given the abundant evidence of violent cause and fearful effect, involving a small percentage of [Muslim] antagonists, the general charge of Islamophobia is an ideological fabrication.

But thanks to actions just now in the U.N., an accusation of Islamophobia will be enough to get people killed or thrown in jail, and this author’s voice (and thousands of others) will never be heard.

Archbishop Meets with Muslim Leaders at Dearborn Mosque
. . . The Catholic prelate's visit to one of the most prominent Islamic institutions in Metro Detroit occurs amid initiatives by Muslims, the Vatican, and Roman Catholic bishops in America to further ecumenical dialogue. In 2007, Catholic and Muslim leaders met in the Islamic Center of American [sic] for a series of conversations aimed and formalizing a statement of common beliefs and understandings between the faiths.

Such a statement is expected to take years to achieve. . . .

Indeed.

Islamic Law's Influence in America a Growing Concern
"Shariah Law is the totality of the Muslim's obligation," said Abdullahi An-Na'im, a professor of law at Emory University in Atlanta. According to An-Na'im, Shariah is similar to Jewish Talmudic Law or Catholic Canon Law in that it guides an adherent's moral conduct.

“Similar” might be true, but “moral concept” and human conduct are miles apart in meaning, understanding, and restrictions, in the Qur’an versus the Talmud and Canon Law.

But Professor An-Na'im believes it will be different in America. "The variety of American secularism — which is much more receptive of public displays of religion and a public role for religion — is, in fact, more conducive for Muslims to be citizens and to be comfortable with their religious values and citizenship than European countries," An-Na'im said.

Muslims seeking greater influence [in the White House]
In a bid to get more Muslim Americans working in the Obama administration, a book with resumes of 45 of the nation's most qualified—Ivy League grads, Fortune 500 executives, and public servants, all carefully vetted—has been submitted to the White House.

The effort, driven by community leaders and others, including Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.), was bumped up two weeks ahead of schedule because White House officials heard about the venture, said J. Saleh Williams, program coordinator for the Congressional Muslim Staffers Association who sifted through more than 300 names.

"It was mostly under the radar," Williams said. "We thought it would put [the president] in a precarious position. We didn't know how closely he wanted to appear to be working with the Muslim American community." [!!!!! And this wasn’t a red flag to them to cease and desist? Apparently not.]

Administration Will Pay Welfare To Terrorists
Obama’s Director of National Intelligence, Dennis Blair, echoed yesterday the same eventuality that U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder admitted, . . . Terrorist detainees from Guantanamo Bay are LIKELY coming to America.

Not only that, but Blair went as far as to discuss all the wonderful things we are going to do for these terrorists, besides giving them the privilege of our American court system, its endless appeals process, and the same constitutional rights as a natural born citizen. Now they are already talking about access to public assistance!

I can hardly wait to hear the stupendous scream of NOT IN MY BACK YARD, that the likes of CAIR, et.al., are sure to let loose with, right?

I wasn’t going to put this one in until I saw that the Freeper had the story. Still not sure I believe it.

The Iran-backed Lebanese group has long been involved in narcotics and human trafficking in South America's tri-border region of Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil. Increasingly, however, it is relying on Mexican narcotics syndicates that control access to transit routes into the U.S. . . .

Somali Muslims Changing Small Town
SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. - It has been nearly 20 years since Somalia last had a functioning government. Islamic jihadists now control most of the country-and sharia is the law of the land. Tens of thousands of Somali refugees have resettled in America in recent years to escape the chaos of their homeland, which is located in the Horn of Africa.

"I found that there was just an enormous culture clash going on here," he said. "The Somalis were--according to a lot of the people I talked to here--were being very, very rude, inconsiderate, very demanding. They would go into stores and haggle over prices. They would also demand to see a male salesperson, would not deal with women in stores , , , Their culture is totally alien to anything the residents are used to," Mosely added.

"We're probably as culturally diversified as any small town in America." said Chief Swing. "There's been a lot of changes. But I think most people just take it in stride and keep going along with it."

It’s not the “most people” you have to worry about, Chief. It’s clearly the Somalis who aren’t taking anything in stride.

US Judge Orders Iran to Pay $25M for Hamas Killing

A federal judge on Friday ordered Iran to pay $25 million plus interest to the family of Israeli soldier Nachshon Wachsman, who was kidnapped and executed by Hamas in 1994.

Wachsman was a 19-year-old U.S. citizen and Israeli army corporal when he was taken by four members of Hamas, designated a terrorist organization by the United States. His abduction damaged Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations at the time, as he pleaded on videotape for his life.

Iran has refused to respond to the lawsuit, resulting in a default judgment in favor of Wachsman’s family.

The Wachman’s moral victory is far more precious than any money they will never see.

10 Terms Not To Use with Muslims
There's a big difference between what we say and what they hear.
In the course of my travels – from the Middle East to Central Asia to Southeast Asia – it has been my great privilege to meet and become friends with many devout Muslims. [This is written by Chris Seiple; I’m willing to bet this is not a female Chris.] These friendships are defined by frank respect as we listen to each other; understand and agree on the what, why, and how of our disagreements, political and theological; and, most of all, deepen our points of commonality as a result.

I have learned much from my Muslim friends, foremost this: Political disagreements come and go, but genuine respect for each other, rooted in our respective faith traditions does not.

[This is just 3 verses, sir, that blow both your genuine respect and respective faith traditions foolishness all to heck. Qur’an 9.3: “Allah is not bound by any treaties made with the idolators.” Qur’an 48.28: “It is he who has sent his apostle with the guidance and the true faith, so he may exalt it over every other creed.” Qur’an 60.4: “We are through with you, and those you worship other than Allah. We reject you. Enmity and hate have come between you and us forever, unless you believe in Allah the one.”]

If there is no respect, there is no relationship [which they’re not looking for, sir], merely a transactional encounter that serves no one in the long term [except them, of course, because they’ve got you completely buffaloed]. . . . I want to share the advice given to me from dear Muslim friends [who’re pulling your chain, sir; Qur’an 3.28: "Let not the believers take disbelievers for their friends in preference to believers. Whoso doeth that hath no connection with Allah unless (it be) that ye but guard yourselves against them."] worldwide regarding words and concepts that are not useful [the only useful ones would be "Yelling Uncle! We give up!"] in building relationships with them. . . .

Chris has apparently never bothered to question the basis of Islam. Did you catch the subtitle? It’s just backward. Why is it everybody on the non-Muslim side seems to think it’s only what they hear that we should worry about? How about what WE hear, and how WE interpret that, as being the starting place in our “relationship” with these Believers?

[Michigan U, what a surprise!] Web site to Educate Media on Islam
Mohammed Ayoob sees two trends in the media coverage of the Muslim world since the terrorist attacks of 9/11, one toward greater intellectual curiosity about Islam and its practitioners, one toward belligerence and oversimplification. [Translated: You’re reading the Qur’an? How dare you?]

It's the latter he's concerned about [well of course he is; it’s haram for just any Tom, Dick, and Dorrie to be able to spread the skinny], the "articles and coverage that have become increasingly adversarial and antagonistic, painting all Muslims and Islam with the same black brush." [And what do you bet he’ll use kitman white paint and make it all better?]

The question here should be: Why are the articles and coverage becoming increasingly adversarial and antagonistic? Maybe because what Muslims say and what they do are so far apart? Oh, and given the above two articles, it beats me where he’s getting all these adversarial and antagonistic articles, now that I think on it.

CAIR’s Well-Deserved Expulsion
Terrorism Is Only One Expression of Jihad — There Are Others as Dangerous.
A week ago, the FBI officially announced that it has cut ties with the Council on American-Islamic Relations. The self-styled civil-rights organization is characteristically squawking, but the FBI’s move was patently overdue — so much so that we ought to be asking: Why on earth did the FBI have ties with CAIR in the first place?

While we should applaud the government for finally doing the right thing, we also must seize this moment to consider why this action was necessary, and what it says about the threat we are up against. That threat is not, essentially, about terrorism. . . .

Given the life-and-death stakes involved, it is understandable that government is preoccupied by terrorism (or what Obama’s homeland-security secretary, Janet Napolitano, absurdly calls “man-caused disasters”). But jihadist terror is merely the means to a specific end: the installation of sharia, the Islamic legal code, which Muslim fundamentalists regard as the necessary precondition for the achievement of Islam’s universalist ambitions. . . .

The time for the world to fully adopt and implement the Palestinian call for boycotts, divestment and sanctions is NOW" ... by "adopting widespread action against Israeli products, companies, academic and cultural institutions, sports groups, international corporations supporting Israeli policies of racism, ethnic cleansing and military occupation and pressuring governments for sanctions." . . .

Mahdi Bray: Voting With Conviction
. . . As a convicted felon, [Mahdi] Bray [leader of the Muslims of America Society Freedom Foundation] can't register to vote in his home state of Virginia. As the Investigative Project on Terrorism reported Thursday, Bray was convicted on separate indictments of grand larceny and drug possession in 1981. In 1989, he began a three-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to mail fraud. For more than 10 years, Bray kept workers' compensation checks sent to his late grandfather, who died in 1975. He was released in 1991.

Beyond his criminal history and the voter registration issues, Bray has a history of defending accused terrorist supporters, and of offering misleading statements about his organization's history and his own actions.

Character counts. Mahdi Bray doesn’t have any. None of the other Muslim leaders are any better, in my opinion. ‘Course, they don’t have any need for it to be leaders in the Party of Jihad, come to think of it.

Hatemongering vs. extremism
Groups like CAIR deny the very existence of radical Islam and blame the problem on "hatemongers." I am sorry to tell Mr. Ayloush that the primary factor causing an image problem for Islam today is the existence of rampant Islamic terrorism and extremism. CAIR says that the term "Islamic terrorist" is racist and that terrorism has no religion. I wish it he could have convinced the 19 Muslim hijackers on Sept. 11 or the four U.K. Muslims who bombed a London subway in July 2005 or any of those responsible for more than 50,000 attacks carried in the name of Islam. All of these were Islamic terrorists motivated by their particular belief in Islam. . . .

VIDEO: Nashville, TN: Al Qaeda Flag Found in Somali Mosque
Why would an Al Qaeda flag be in the Al Farooq (Somalia) mosque in Nashville,TN? Of course this is covered under "religious freedom" and is not being used as an educational tool (along with lectures of convicted terrorists inside the mosque) for the young worshippers of the mosque.

[And of course] In no way would the flag be a symbol of their support to any terrorist organization, nor as a recruiting tool to 'brainwash' the minds of innocent young children. Now if the children do not adhere they are simply beaten by the Islamic leaders, and this also (according to Nashville authorities) is also legal in TN.

And people ask themselves why America is slowly being taken away from us. We are wrong. It is not being taken away, it is being handed over to Islamic terrorist groups and their supporters on a golden plate. Respectfully, Dave G.

Ad for Islam on Broward Bus May Lead to Ban
In the wake of controversial bus ads saying Jesus followed the principles of Islam, Broward County commissioners are considering a ban on advertising religious messages on public transportation and all other government property. . . .

Broward has had no advertising standards that apply across the board at the port, airport, parks, libraries, government buildings and mass transit. County commissioners will consider the proposal Tuesday, but both sides in the January dispute believe it goes too far.

"This is a knee-jerk reaction from our elected officials to small voices of extremism," said Altaf Ali of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, which bought the ads. [Well, of course he said that; what else would you expect from a CAIR rep?]

Joe Kaufman, who organized protests against the ads for Americans Against Hate, said: "We were not concerned about whether Muslims or Jews or Christians put religious messages in advertising. We were concerned that the ad was offensive and demeaning to other religions." . . .

"Several" Missing Somali-Americans Back in U.S. After Overseas Terror Mission
. . ."Some of the guys who were missing aren't missing anymore," the source said. "Some of them got blown up and some of them came back, and some of them are still there [in Somalia]."

For several months the FBI has been investigating at least 20 Somali-American men from the Minneapolis area who traveled to war-torn Somalia, where some of them trained and fought with an Al Qaeda-linked terrorist group known as al-Shabaab, according to counterterrorism officials.

Asked to characterize how many of those men are now back on American soil, the source would only say that "several" have returned. Federal authorities believe the men went to Somalia to join al-Shabaab, which has been warring with the moderate Somali government since 2006.

Oh, joy. Now we have Somali trained professional jihadists in the country. Better they had stayed missing.

How Hamas Became “Kosher”
Today Hamas stands on the cusp of international acceptance. It may take a week or a month or a year, but today Hamas stands where Fatah and the PLO stood in the late 1980s. The genocidal jihadist terror group is but a step away from an invitation to the Oval Office. Two events in the past week show this to be the case.

First, last Saturday, the Boston Globe reported that Paul Volker, who serves as US President Barack Obama's economic recovery advisor, and several former senior US officials, [wrote] a letter to Obama calling for the US to recognize Hamas. As one of the signatories, Brent Scowcroft, former national security advisor under president George H.W. Bush explained, "I see no reason not to talk to Hamas."

And I still stand by my thoughts from last week: The reason not to talk to Hamas is because they are not a country [there is no Palestinian nation] without diplomatic relations with ANY country, and they are a terrorist organization set to destroy Israel. Hamas should be ignored, stopped, pushed off . . . But I dream on. Our nation is now led by B. Hussein Obama.

CAIR Seeks Religious Rights for Ohio Muslim Cabbies [Ah, we’ve moved on down, I see, from Minnesota to Ohio.]

Muslim civil rights group asks for meeting with mayor to discuss “reasonable” religious accommodation.

The drivers claim that if they must exit the taxi queue in order to pray, they will suffer significant loss of access to fares, forcing them to choose between their faith and their livelihood. . . .

Well, like it or not, Muslims should have to play by the rules, too, just like everybody else (is supposed to). You make the choice, religion or work; the local gov'ts should not be called upon to get involved in your private quandary.

Nothing is ever “reasonable” about these demands, no matter how nicely demanded. Keep the ban. Do not buckle under, Mayor Jackson. This is just like blackmail: The more you pay, the more they’ll ask for . . . Oh, maybe that’s like terrorism, come to think of it.

"Away From the Politics of Fear"
Madame Secretary, in your first testimony to the US Congress as Homeland Security Secretary you never mentioned the word "terrorism." Does Islamist terrorism suddenly no longer pose a threat to your country?

Napolitano: Of course it does. I presume there is always a threat from terrorism. In my speech, although I did not use the word "terrorism," I referred to "man-caused" disasters. [Which makes her unfit for her position, in my opinion.] That is perhaps only a nuance, but it demonstrates that we want to move away from the politics of fear toward a policy of being prepared for all risks that can occur.

If I don’t call a hurricane a hurricane, how can I ever know how to prepare for it and live through it? NAME THE ENEMY, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. Or get out of my way, so I can.

US Muslim Groups Mull FBI Boycott
Frustrated by mistrust, suspicion and provocative actions targeting their law-abiding [would that be Sharia-abiding, do you think?] community, the major American Muslim groups are considering to rupture all outreach relations with the FBI and the Justice Department. . . .

If the FBI does not accord fair and equitable treatment to every American Muslim organization [fair and equitable according to whom? According to me, the FBI is being overfair and untra-delicate with Muslim sensitivities. Perhaps the underlying thinking here is: "Shut up and go away, FBI"?], then Muslim organizations, mosques, and individuals will have no choice but to consider suspending all outreach activities with FBI offices, agents, and other personnel," said the statement. . . .

And they seriously think this is a threat? The case that caused this little tempest started because an FBI agent had to go into a mosque UNDERCOVER to get the straight skinny on what was going on inside. No exactly full disclosure coming from the Islamists, so what’s the loss?

A spokesperson says later in the article:
"We further request objective evaluation of the sources of information and analysis utilized to formulate decisions." In other words: Tell us who told you we were misbehaving and we’ll decide for you if we think you should pay any attention to it.” The hutzpah these people display is astounding.

NY Jury Convicts Man in Terrorism-arms Conspiracy
A jury has convicted a man extradited from Romania in a plot to sell weapons to Colombian militants after a notorious arms dealer was already sentenced for his role.

The jury in Manhattan federal court convicted Tareq Mousa al Ghazi Tuesday in the sting operation.

Al Ghazi was convicted of conspiring to murder U.S. officers and employees, conspiracy to acquire and export anti-aircraft missiles and conspiracy to support a terrorist group.

He was acquitted of conspiracy to murder U.S. nationals.

He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years in prison and could face life at a June 16 sentencing.

Last month, notorious Syrian-born arms dealer Monzer al-Kassar was sentenced to 30 years in prison for his role [in this same criminal enterprise, I assume?].

This is the whole article. I was struck by the complete emptiness of this report. What terrorist group was this guy supporting? Was it the “Colombian militants”? Why did the Feds include a “conspiracy to murder US nationals” in the case? And he had to be “extradited,” yet. From Romania.

What, really, was this Arabic-named criminal’s reason for all this behavior? Money, you think? A common drug-smuggling problem?

Could it have been because he’s following Muhammad’s dictum to carry out jihad until the world has submitted to Allah? Could it be the fellow is a --- gasp! --- Islamic Believer?

Will Obama Embrace Shariah As Part of His ‘Respect Islam’ Campaign?
President Obama on Friday reiterated for the umpteenth time his determination to develop a "new relationship" with the Muslim world. On this occasion, the audience were the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Indonesia and the Philippines.

The Radicals Among Us
. . . something dark [is] at the heart of Philadelphia: a prevalent but scarcely mentioned brand of radical Islam that has appeared almost unremarked upon . . . in several of the city’s worst modern moments. And which has, over recent decades, entwined the city from its lowest streets to the pinnacle of public power. . . .

It’s difficult to get a sense of just how big Philadelphia’s Muslim population is. Estimates range from less than 100,000 to twice that many. Its importance is clear, though; Sylvester Johnson, for instance, served as America’s first Muslim metropolitan police chief. [Does this indicate that there are several others in the U.S.?] Along with many other adherents in Philadelphia, he found Islam — or some form of it, at least — decades ago, when the Nation of Islam came to town. . . .

A cursory search did not turn up any US police chiefs ID’d as Muslim. If anyone knows one, or some, or all, in the USA, please let me know by replying to scrivener2007@gmail.com.

The Growing Islamic Supremacist Threat to Virginia
The Northern Virginia suburb of Washington DC has been growing as an Islamic supremacist haven. Amidst the many hard-working Virginians who serve our nation's defense, civilian federal government, homeland security, and commercial businesses, Islamic supremacist groups, organizations, and institutions have quietly expanded and gained members. MSU faculty tackles inaccurate, simplistic portrayal of Islam, Muslims in the media
Reporters sometimes underestimate the complexities of Islam and Muslims, according to Michigan State University faculty who will use a grant to create a multimedia Web site designed to foster accurate and balanced reporting of the religion and its followers.

“If you look at the coverage of Muslims in the press in this country, there are either over- simplifications or distortions – such as combining the terms Arab and Muslim despite the fact that only 20 percent of the world’s Muslims are Arabs,” [and the rest are what? Blacks in America, Canada, and Europe?] said Mohammed Ayoob, director of MSU’s Muslim Studies Program and University Distinguished Professor of international relations at James Madison College and the Department of Political Science. “This problem has become particularly acute in the wake of Sept. 11.” [And he's inferring what, here? That non-Believers have been out there making life miserable for the Believers living in the U.S.? Not true. We’re plenty fooled in this country about Islamic pacifism; way too fooled, to my liking. This article will simply add to the soft lulling of the American hearts that desperately do not want to know about Islam's real aims.]

Add to that commonly misunderstood – and misused – terms like jihad, militant Islam and Islamic fanaticism. [They are misused how? Somebody's saying they don’t exist? Somebody's saying they aren’t mandated activities in the Qur’an? They are exactly that. I might agree that “fanaticism,” and I’ll add “radical” Islamist are misused terms: These people are simply very active activists in the Party of Jihad that Muhammad designed 1400 years ago.]

. . . “The Web site will offer examples of ideal and poor [which will undoubtedly be the truth about Islam] reporting on stories and a list of best practices on reporting on Islam to help journalists make sense of this subject matter before trying to inform their masses.” . . . [Translated: we’re indoctrinating you PC-ers to be even more PC-ish. And we’re teaching it to your kids, too.]

This is almost a criminal waste of Michigan’s taxpayers' money.

Mr Obama has made peace in the Middle East a central goal of his presidency. . . .

GOP Rep Pressures FBI for 'Payback' Against Muslim Civil Rights Group
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) charged today that a Virginia member of the U.S. House of Representatives has "abused his office" by seeking to pressure the FBI to produce negative information about the Muslim civil rights and advocacy group.

In a letter delivered to the FBI on Monday, Rep. Frank Wolf (R-VA) said he is "deeply disappointed" in the agency's "insufficient response" to an earlier letter apparently seeking negative information based on smears against CAIR by Internet Muslim-bashers like Steven Emerson.

Emerson was recently named one of Fairness & Accuracy in Media's "dirty dozen" of Islamophobes. (http://www.smearcasting.com/) FOXNews.com articles on the controversy have been based on Emerson's online attacks on CAIR.

Domestic terror threat growing, Senate committee warns
There is an increasing threat of homegrown terror stemming from segments of a deeply isolated and alienated Somali-American community, a U.S. Senate committee hearing concluded Wednesday.

The hearing highlighted the case of Shirwa Ahmed, a 27-year-old Somali-American who had been radicalized by al-Shabaab in his adopted home state of Minnesota before traveling to Somalia and blowing up himself and 29 others in October.

“And it is growing in no small part because of the abject failure of government and law enforcement to deal with the Islamic doctrines and beliefs that provide the justification for "terrorism." Instead, most policymakers and law enforcement officials have decided a priori, without a shred of evidence, that those doctrines either do not exist or have no influence on American Muslims.”—Robert Spencer

Extortion, Guns and Visa Fraud:
Springfield man sentenced to 18 months for conspiracy to commit fraud, transporting illegal firearm.
A three-year FBI investigation into extortion, gun distribution and visa and marriage fraud concluded with the sentencing of a seventh and final defendant in U.S. District Court in Alexandria Friday, Feb. 27, 2009.

The FBI investigation began in 2005 when Springfield resident, Amjad Mustafa Hamed, 32, attempted to purchase six U.S. visas from an FBI source to put on six Palestinian Authority passports smuggled into the United States, according to Joseph Persichini Jr., assistant director in charge of the FBI Washington Field Office. . . .

Just pointing out that once again an American jury gets it right.

[Chesler] Vindicated by “Muslims Against Sharia Law.”
. . . Lo and Behold: A second honorable ally wrote to me. I want to share what he said. His name is Khalim Massoud, and he is the President of Muslims Against Sharia Law, an international organization. After reading my most recent blog HERE, he wrote me as follows:

“There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that (the) Buffalo beheading is a honorcide. We, Muslims Against Sharia, prefer this term to honor murder. Beheading is not just a murder, it’s a ritual. It’s a form of control and humiliating a family member who “stepped over the line,” in this case, wife taking out a TRO (order of protection) and planning to divorce her husband. . . .

I would suggest we all bookmark Muslims against Sharia Law, and Phyllis Chesler’s columns in Pajamas Media for the future.

School buses "soft targets" for possible terrorist attacks
Terrorism experts say homeland security begins at the school bus stop.

It's a school security gap that most parents, police and school officials don't always see, but terrorists do.

School buses can be vulnerable to a potential attacker, but are often overlooked in a school district's security plan.

This is a sad commentary of the worries that parents have to contend with today, but it's good to know there are people aware of and working to prevent the problem.

Iranian TV show scrapped after child calls toy monkey Ahmadinejad live on air
When the presenter of Amoo Pourang (Uncle Pourang), a programme watched by millions of Iranian children three times a week on state TV, asked the name of the toy the boy had been given as a reward for behaving himself, the child replied: "Well, my father calls him Ahmadinejad."

The father's likely unease at his son's honesty was matched by the programme-makers after the state broadcaster, IRIB, immediately responded by removing the show from viewing schedules . . .
This struck me as funny, but it really isn’t. Lack of freedom of speech is lack of freedom of speech, which is the death-nell for everyone.

Grand Jury Convenes in FBI Terror Case Against Somali-Americans [and their mosque] in Minneapolis, Sources Say
. . . the FBI has been investigating about a dozen Somali-American men who disappeared from their homes in the Minneapolis area late last year and may have joined terrorist groups overseas. One of the men, 27-year-old Shirwa Ahmed, later blew himself up in Somalia. Anti-Terrorism Group Crashes Muslim Day
About 200 Muslim-Americans toured the Capitol and met with lawmakers Tuesday to discuss education and healthcare reform. While the group ate lunch in Capitol courtyard, a coalition of Jews and Christians held a news conference to speak out against radical Islam. Kelly Cook, a spokesman for Act! for America, [yay!] an anti-terrorist group, said some Muslims are trying to fool state lawmakers.

“They want our Florida lawmakers to trust them; well, here’s what violates trust: Islamic organizations that refuse to acknowledge that there are a lot of people in their community of faith who want to hurt America, kill Americans, and impose Sharia law on America,” said Cook. [Go, Kelly!]

Mohammad Sherif, a spokesman for United Voices for America, http://www.unitedvoices.com/
[well, that was incredibly uninformative] said Muslims want the same things from state government that Jews and Christians [do]. “What’s important to do is to have people who understand our view point and understand that we are constituents and that we are not necessarily Muslims that live in America [and you prove that how?], but that we are American Muslims and in this state we are Floridians first and foremost,” said Sherif.

Right. The UVA Web page says it's a political org. If that's the case, they aren't American Floridians first. They are Muslim political activists concealing and deceiving Americans about their goals.
