Defiant Wilders
It’s been a tough few weeks for Geert Wilders. First, an Amsterdam appeals court announced in late January that it was going to bring the blunt-speaking Dutch parliamentarian to trial for offending Muslims with his anti-Islam film, Fitna. Just a few weeks later, Wilders was controversially denied entry into Britain after the British Home Office declared that his views on Islam “would threaten community harmony and therefore public security in the United Kingdom.”
Set against the near-daily threats on his life, the 24-hour security detail, and the restrictions on travel that have been Wilders’ lot since he first emerged as an outspoken critic of extremist Islam in 2004, these latest setbacks might have tested even the most determined public crusader. But Wilders seems to draw strength from intimidation, whether from aggrieved Muslims or zealous multiculturalists. . . .

Kuwaiti prof: 330,000 dead from 4 pounds of anthrax
A professor from Kuwait, the country liberated from Saddam Hussein's attack squads by the United States in the first Gulf War, has called Islamic terrorists "the most honorable people in the world" and has outlined on Arab television a potential terror attack that would involve smuggling anthrax from Mexico into the U.S. and killing 330,000 people in 60 minutes. . . .

Ms. Dalia Mogahed, executive director of the Gallup Center for Muslim studies and co-author of Who Speaks for Islam? [They do quite well on their own, seems to me. I would really like to know Who Speaks for America?] has been asked to testify before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee as they hold a hearing on February 26, 2009 titled "Engaging with Muslim Communities around the World." The hearing will discuss how the perceptions of the United States are shaped abroad, explore possible new strategies of diplomacy, and look for where common ground exists with the broader Muslim world that advances mutual interests and builds on shared values . . .
Well, see, I don’t see where "shared values" exist. This is an exercise in kitman for them, and fool-hardy wishful hoping on our side. If you study Islam, you find it’s pretty clear that Muslims are not to take infidels as friends, that no infidel is ever to be equal to a Muslim, that Jews and Christians are to be despised. . . I dunno, I just don’t see any shared values on their part—they want nothing we have or believe in.
And this article sounds really good, until you know that Ms. Mogahed is a follower of John Esposito, who is, well, not exactly a stalwart defender of freedom and the American way. Check out any of Robert Spencer’s conversations with or about John Esposito and his position becomes very clear.---DOB

Beheading Moderate Islam
. . . The environment that they [the children] will grow up in instead cannot be imagined. But many people are doing their best to make sure that, whatever the other features of that environment may be, a critical appraisal of the roots of honor killing in Islamic culture, and a determination to put an end to this phenomenon, will not be among them. . . .

A word standing in the way of peace: Terrorism
If President Barack Obama is serious about repairing relations with the Arab world and re-establishing the United States as an honest broker in Middle East peace talks, one step would be to bridge a chasm in perception that centers on one contentious word: terrorism.
The recent fighting in Gaza offered a potent reminder of the challenge Washington faces in mediating a dispute when the United States refuses to speak directly with some of the main players, including Hamas and Hezbollah, which it calls terrorist groups. . . .
As you read, would you please see if you can find ANY indication that the complainers offer to do ANYthing to lessen the hostilities? It’s NEVER them who needs to change; it’s always the other guy.---DOB

Nazis’ “Terrible Weapon,” Aimed at Minds and Hearts
[It takes awhile, but eventually this writer gets to comparing the Hitler propaganda to what’s happening vis a vis the Islamists in today’s world.]
The exhibition points out that the Nazis financed anti-Semitic broadcasts by Haj Amin al-Husseini, “an Arab nationalist and prominent Muslim religious leader.” Now no sponsorship seems needed. Major Middle East media outlets have asserted that Jews use children’s blood to bake matzos. In recent weeks we have heard that Jews are following the nefarious plot outlined in the Protocols to exterminate all gentiles, this from the poet and former member of the Lebanese Parliament Ghassan Matar. An Egyptian cleric, Safwat Higazi, has described Jews being “as smooth as a viper”: “Dispatch those son of apes and pigs to the Hellfire.”

Turning Universities into Graveyards
The cult of death, Islam, is marching forward under its battle cry: "We love death, the infidels love life," as Hassan Nasrullah, leader of Lebanon Hizbollah, says. There is no limit to the Shi'a mullahs' obsession with all matters dealing with death. . . .
. . . the ever-conniving mullahs are gradually transforming Iran's universities, cradles of knowledge about life, to mausoleums. Instead of adorning the landscape with statues of great scientists and scholars to inspire the young to life achievement, the mullahs bring corpses of their victims and bury them there, victims who had been hoodwinked by the fascist Islamists and had lost their lives in implementing the schemes of Allah's frauds. . . .
